I have taken care of kids since age 12,
so I knew I could handle your siblings,
But now that you’re a plan I cannot shelve,
I’m nervous to see what your presence brings.
Will you pee on my floor? And bark all night?
Will you dislike my treats and my kibble?
Or will you sit on my feet while I write,
and lick up my coffee when I dribble?
The kids love their dad, but they hug me more;
I have never not been the favorite.
Not going to lie, I always keep score,
and if he beat me, I could not bear it.
